£1 breakfast -pocketwatcher meals


The long and short of this is this is part 1 of how to survive on a £5 budget in 2024. This is the kind of breakfast you make.

Ingredients

  1. Bread of choice

  2. Baked beans

  3. Potato

  4. Salted Butter

  5. All purpose seasoning (herbs and spices blend in one )

  6. Salt and pepper


Notes

  • Cook the potatoes first, so you can cook the beans in the same pan to absorb all that flavour

  • Don’t burn your potatoes once they go golden brown they switch really quickly so monitor it




Instructions

  1. Peel a potato

  2. Dice into squares

  3. Rinse

  4. Get a frying pan on medium to high heat

  5. Once hot, add in a tablespoon of butter

  6. Add in your diced up potatoes , allow a crust to develop on one side for about 2 to 3 minutes before flipping over

  7. Cook for about 7 to 8 minutes or until fork tender and a nice golden brown colour

  8. Finish with your all purpose seasoning (or salt and pepper is fine )

  9. Add to your plate


Step 2

  1. Open a tin of baked beans into that same pan and fry for about 30 to 45 seconds

  2. Remove and add to your plate.


Step 3

  1. Add your slices of toast into toaster until desired crust likeness


Step 4 (Bonus )

  1. Balanced this beautiful plate out with some protein by adding a fried egg . Sunnyside up looks really good on this.

  2. But I would do a scrambled (My pallet is not that developed yet. :(
