Shrimp Fried Rice

Shrimp Fried Rice

  • Vegetable Oil

  • Shrimp

  • Cooked jasmine rice

  • Onions

  • Bell peppers

  • Carrots

  • Spring onions / Scallions

  • Black pepper

  • Oyster Sauce

  • All purpose seasoning


Make sure all the vegetables are prepped before you start the process. Cook your rice the day before or one hour before. Season as you go. Taste test and adjust salt. Took everything on a high heat in a nonstick wok.


  1. Mince and chop onions, ready for use later on

  2. Season shrimp with black pepper and all purpose seasoning

  3. Defrost, one cup of mixed vegetables

  4. The ratio of rice to vegetables should be 1:1

  5. Prep spring onions by slicing them, thinly

  6. Cook shrimp for about 2 to 3 minutes and set aside

  7. Defrost, vegetables for one minute in a microwave

  8. Sauté onions and garlic for one minute in oil

  9. Add in defrosted vegetables and sauté for two minutes

  10. Add 2 tablespoons of oil and stirfry with black pepper and all-purpose

  11. Add uncooked rice and stirfry for 2 to 3 minutes on high heat

  12. Add in 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce 1 tablespoon of all purpose and stirfry for another minute

  13. Re-introduced a shrimp back in and stirfry for one minute

  14. Finish with spring onions and turn off the heat
