Copy of Sponge Vanilla Cake

Prep time 5 minutes

Cook time 30-45 minutes

Total cook time just about 50 minutes


Ingredients

  • Cake mix

  • Unsalted butter

  • Vegetable oil

  • Eggs

  • Whole milk

  • Vanilla extract

  • Icing fondant

  • Flour to hell with rolling icing


Utensils

  • Baking pan

  • Whisk

  • Measuring cups

  • Rolling pin

  • Mixing bowl

  • Oven mitts

  • Skewers/ toothpick



Notes

  • Pre-heat oven to required temperature for at least 10 minutes

  • Refer to an actual vanilla cake video and compare package instructions and make the right substitutions.

  • Taste tester batter  before cooking

Instructions

  1. in a large mixing bowl, open package and pour out content.

  2. Substitute oil for unsalted melted butter

  3. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, in addition

  4. Replace water with whole milk

  5. Add in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  6. Add double the amount of eggs

  7. Mix together until thoroughly combined

  8. Grease, and line a baking pan with butter

  9. Poor in batter and bake according to package instructions

  10. Five minutes before the cake is ready, insert a skewer into the middle of the cake to check if it is still wet/ gooey

  11. If it is not done, keep monitoring every 4  minutes for the next 10 minutes

  12. Rollout fondant to cover the cake and ice the cake

  13. Serve with any toppings of choice, ice, cream or syrup
